Gianfranco Baruchello (b. 1924 in Livorno) lives and works in Rome.
His work has appeared in many individual and group exhibitions since the 1960s. In 1977 he was invited to Documenta 6 in Kassel and in 2008 he took part in his last major group exhibition „Italics“ curated by Francesco Bonami at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice and currently showing at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (November 14, 2009 - February 14, 2010).
His numerous solo exhibitions have primarily been held in Italy. Occasionally, his work has been shown in European galleries and institutions, such as Galerie Buchholz, Galerie Michael Hasenclever and Lenbachhaus in Munich, Yvon Lambert in Paris and Palais des Beaux-Arts and Galerie Greta Meert in Brussels.
