Expo Chicago
Michael Janssen Gallery / Booth 143
April 13—16, 2023
Navy Pier, Chicago, US

Louis Cameron makes collage paintings, a visual diary of Berlin seen through the lens of the artist‘s afro American heritage. Gulnur Mukazhanova uses the traditional craft of Kazakh artisans to examine post-nomadic identities and alienation from indigenous communities caused by capitalist structures. In contrast to Gulnur Mukazhanova’s hand-felted textiles, the media tapestries of Margret Eicher are collages created digitally and woven assisted by computers. She is considered the pioneer of contemporary tapestry in Germany. Works of Angolan artist Yonamine are deeply influenced by images from pop culture and street art aesthetics. The artist reflects corrupt promises in a post-colonial context. Finally, Chinese artist Yafeng Duan explores the objective sensibility of abstraction. She employs different painting methods, to create delicate transcendental landscapes filled with melancholic beauty.

For further information about our artists, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our booth 143 at Navy Pier.
